
Alexandra teaches singing to groups, choirs and individuals, focusing
on the genres of pop, jazz, folk and musical theatre. She currently
works for Manchester Music Service and has previously worked for
Blackburn with Darwen Music and Performing Arts Service, Wigan Music
Service and has also taught privately as well as on many performing
arts summer schemes.
Alexandra offers a holistic approach to singing, focusing on helping
young singers to develop those skills which are essential for the
practicing professional singer. Key areas of study include:
- repertoire and performance
- vocal technique and music theory
- interpretation, expression and improvisation
Alexandra's teaching style is flexible and programmes of study are created for the needs of individuals and groups. Everybody's voice is different and unique and is treated as such.
Alexandra is highly qualified with a distinction in MA Music Performance
from Salford University, 2004. She also holds a Grade 'A' at A Level
Music and Associated Board 'Merits' in Grade 5 Theory and Grade
8 Voice. She has 6years teaching experience at primary, secondary
and in post 16 education.
